Singularity University Founded by NASA, Google

Google and NASA have partnered to create a school called Singularity
University. The school, to be headed by Ray Kurzweil, will prepare
scientists and others to deal with the effects of technological
change. Kurzweil will serve as Chancellor.

The 'singularity' is also theoretically a physical event.

It would be interesting to see how the two 'singularities' might
coincide, but I doubt that most or all of FTL enthusiasts would want
to hang around for that one to happen...
