2" vs 1.25" Diagonal
Assuming both diagonals are of similar optical quality, is there any benefit
to using a 2" diagonal with a 1.25 adapter vs. using a 1.25 diagonal? Thanks Brian A |

2" vs 1.25" Diagonal
Hi:
Nope. None. Other than that you can use 2" eyepieces (and provide a secure home for big 1.25" or 1.25"/2" eyepieces). Peace, Rod Mollise Sometimes there is a disadvantage to using a 2 inch Diagonal with an adapter. Some scopes do not have enough infocus for some eyepiece combinations. A Pronto will not reach focus with a UO Ortho and a Ultima barlow unless one switches to a 1.25 inch diagonal. jon |

2" vs 1.25" Diagonal
Sometimes there is a disadvantage to using a 2 inch Diagonal with an adapter. Some scopes do not have enough infocus for some eyepiece combinations. Hi: It's not the infocus that's the problem, usually, Jon, it's Outfocus. The average 1.25" - 2" adapter may put the eyepiece, the 1.25" eyepiece too far out to come to focus.
