Default NASA Heading Into The Dark Ages

Reason No brains No money. No great interest. Even going back to
the moon is like watching a movie you already seen. NASA could have
evolved into something greater than just going round and round. When
they stopped using the great Saturn V NASA threw the baby out with the
dish water. Bert

Gee Bert... were you washed in dishwater as a baby. Maybe that's your
problem. Anyway, I wouldn't be so quick to throw out the "no brains" charge
if I were you... everyone I know personally who works for NASA has a heck of
a lot more brains than you've ever exhibited here with your pet theories.

Bert:

You are getting increasingly insolent, condescending, and paranoid. You
obviously have never taken course in logical thinking methods.

Your grammar is also terrible. Please run your text through a grammar
checker, for example, the one on Wordperfect, and spare us the garbled
posts.

Instead of running your fictionalizing movie mentality why, instead,
don't you base your ideas in logically establishing a plausible base for
the discovery of new scientific ideas.

Scientists have no idea regarding the role of individual rights and
property rights that need to defined in order to make profitable life
and travel in space and on the Moon or planets possible. Privately owned
corporate, university, and individual owned Moon bases will be far more
resourceful and productive than or, would you believe the USA's
socialistic NASA.

Nasa has in general done some incredible pieces of adventure and
science. They've done some incredibly dumb things too, for example,
putting schools teachers in orbit for social adaptation and propaganda
purpose, creating the side-saddle design for the Shuttle launch vehicle,
of allowing o-ring bound management brains to authorize dangerous
launches. The USA should sell the entirety of NASA to private firms. A
capitalist NASA could also launch military, industrial and science projects.

Two 100 Meter diameter, that is very large, remote controlled telescopes
with segmented mirrors, and other optical instruments, could function
well under the conditions of the Moon, and the clarity of the Moon's
skies would by measurably better that on Mars.

To All that attack me personally for having thoughts that are contrary
to theirs I can only say you are a sad lot. I look upon your kind as bad
apples that are found in a bushel of apples. You have no brains that
you can call your own. I've been told many times you are jealous that I
can "THINK SO GOOD" Bert

SARCASM
It's a good thing you don't lower yourself to OUR level, which is just
insulting those that don't agree with you.

UGO Those that disagree with my thoughts is good Those that disagree
for the sake of putting me down so they can feel above me is bad. Read
their low brain posts before you jump. Or are you also a low brain
thinker? Most likely(yes) Bert

And I suppose Ralph was just putting you down?

Read
their low brain posts before you jump.

No, it's you who should read other peoples' posts before jumping.

Or are you also a low brain
thinker?

No, I like to think of myself as a fairly intelligent person. It doesn't
really take much brains to go around bashing NASA, which is what you're
doing here. You think you could do things better than the guys there? In
all my time on this group, I've never heard you say a good word about them.
IIRC (that means If I Recall Correctly, in case you don't know) you whined
how the rovers would crash to Mars and said Beagle was NASA's (!!!!) big
mistake. Where was a congratulation on 2 successful landings? Of course,
nowhere, that would hurt your pride too much...
NASA must have hurt you real bad, looking at all this criticism turned
towards them.
What's the matter, did they turn down your job application or what?

Most likely(yes) Bert

Ouch. Trying to insult me with insinuations like this really don't do you
credit, Bert. Out of arguments for constructive discussion so you resort to
this level?

I'm really amused by you and by the fact you'll probably ignore this post
ever existed.

Bye.

Come on Bert...what did you expect from a post like that? Sometimes people
may disagree with your ideas (I wouldn't say theories until you write them
down and publish them somewhere...my offer still stands btw) and that is
their right to disagree, and that is also what makes this group fun. We can
all post ideas and discuss/disagree. But when you post out of the blue about
how NASA is a bunch of idiots...you have to expect people to post negative
statements back. You started the negative thread, now deal with it. When you
post a message that says nothing but NASA is a bunch of idiots, it's a
Troll, and you know it.

Read a book once about this very thing. Don't remember the title as I read
many books and this one didn't make a huge impression on me. But it was
historical fiction. One of the characters was against a moonshot. He said
that while it would be a hugh achivement, we could not do anything to top it
for many years. We could learn most of what we needed through remotes.

Currently they have the wrong administrators, to much money in the wrong
areas, and no great interest. GWB's idea of going to mars hasn't been met
with the same enthusiasm as Kennedy wanting a man on the moon in ten years.
Different times. Back then it was a matter of national pride. Who was going
to plant there flag there first us or the Russians. What with the cold war
it would have seemed important. There can only be two reasons for going to
mars at this point. There is some resource that is valuble there or there is
some science reason. I suppose that one of the landers could find evidence
of advanced life.

Hi Fitzd You are right the Russians trying to go to the moon before us
gave our going to the moon its push. As an American I take pride in the
accomplishments of the Apollo program. I get a lot of flack when I say
that the reality of NASA'S big set back when it put the SaturnV in
retirement, and went with a much lesser rocket system "the shuttle" Here
are the crazy reasons why. Save money(bull ****) To land where it took
off (more ****) To go round and round for 37 years(oh ya) Bert PS
In the shuttles last few years of going round and round NASA was trying
to find a cure for cancer, and with that thought they got big bucks.
Politicians here in Florida like when NASA gets big bucks. They know
what comes around goes around, and they want to be part of that loop.
Bert
