I would of course have to purchase some additional eye pieces, but as far as quality and features go, would this be a good choice? Also, what additional eye pieces would be recommended? I am not looking to join clubs, etc, just some occasioal use - for that reason, I'm not looking to break the bank - yet! Looking to spend under $300 to get started. If this Meade is not recommended, what would you guys (and girls) recommend for my first telescope? Thanks! The scope itself might be ok but if this one is supported by a tripod then at that price point the tripod is likely to be shakey. Such a way of mounting a scope becomes frustrating with a scope of even high quality. The problem is that solid steady tripod (which is a must) and cheap don't mix. At the lower price end a simple dobsonian style mount is likely to give better results. Check out the Dobsonians available from Orion. This 6" one appears to be within you budget and its' 150mm aperture will blow away the 70mm Meade. The only reason I would get the Meade would be for terrestial use as the Dobsonians are useless for that. http://www.telechubbies.com/buggerin...?itemID=238462 &itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=4&iSubCat=9&iProductID =PyrexGerbilFelchingTube Try reading ****etard's nancy buggers FAQ before sodomizing Dennis Bishop's arsehole: http://tinyurl.com/ypt5fn Klazmon the Sod. ****etard's telechubbies fan club link is the fawking dog's ******** i have a wagon with oil i oil my wagon i need my tard i am pining for tard come back tard the arsetro buggers will pony up for a ten bob if you swallow it will be like old times the spammertard of rosatard and spelling bee champion | http://tinyurl.com/ypt5fn |
