Wait times for AP refractors
I hope you ordered an F/6 and not the F/8. Ordering the latter will
probably require a much longer waiting time. Al "Dragan" wrote in message om... To all, I went ahead and put myself on the list for the 130AP. I'm assuming it will take at a minimum 2-3 years (and thats conservative) before I'm ever called. Now I guess we'll just have to see what happens. Who knows maybe I will have a TMB or soemthing else before that day comes. We'll just see. Thanks everybody for the feedback. I want to cut this short before Shawn chimes in again. People like him know how to ruin a perfectly good thread. Feel free to email me privately, Dragan Chicago,IL (Tdcarls) wrote in message ... Not knowing at the time if I would have the finances in the future to be able to afford one, I nonetheless put my name on the notification list in the Fall of '99 for a Traveler. I thought I may as well at least get on the list. Still haven't rec'd notice that they've made it down to my name yet! Either that or I deleted the e-mail by mistake. Wait times for AP refractors
(Dragan) wrote in message . com...
How long is the wait for a 130mm or 155mm AP APO? If I put myself on the list today, how long before I can order one, then how much longer before delivery? I realize noone can give me an exact time frame, not even Roland, due to the demand. I'm sure it constantly changes. I'd be happy with just an estimate of how long the total wait is. From putting myself on the list to first light. What have recent buyers experienced with one of these two scopes? Clear skies, Dragan Chicago Il Anyone who puts their name on the waiting list now is probably looking at a 10 year wait. I've been on the list for a 155 for over 4 years now and it looks like I might possibly have a chance in the second run from now. Each run takes from 18 months to 2 years. I probably have 4 years to go at this point in time. If things proceed as they did on the last run then I will probably be on the third run from now, which will make the total wait close to 10 years. For the last run they called people who were on the list from January to mid May of 1999. Check out their web site and see for yourself. http://www.astro-physics.com/index.h...ity/not_update H.G. |

That's right, but one can make a good argument that the AP is not the best...very damn good but not necessarily the best. Al |
