Weirder election than Battlestar Galactica's
Robert J. Kolker wrote: Pat Flannery wrote: So that's why Arabs don't like us...and those around 130,000 Iraqi dead from the first Gulf War, and the other 30,000 from the second one might have something to do with it also Long before Iraq I, there was a decade and half of airplane hijackings of American commercial planes. The hijackers were not Jihadist ala Al-Qaeda and they were not out to distroy the "infidels". Some of them were pretty laic in fact. If you wan't to go back real far, there were Jihadist terror attacks against the Dutch in Indonesia around the time Krakatoe blew up. Any insurection may be branded as "terrorism". If you want to go back even further around 950 c.e. the Hashishin (from which we get the word assassin) were terrorizing Persia for decades with killings (assassinations) and other terror acts. These were Jihadist Moslems. This predated the Crusades by the way. You cound at least get your dates right. Hasan i Sabbah lived in the 11th century (approx. 1034 - 1124). The hashishin wee not bent on waging a "holly war", plus they were killing Muslims. So what if the hashishin predated the Crusades? Conclusion: Moslem extremists have been bad news since way back when. Pull a hair out of their asses and they declare a Jihad. Bob Kolker ****ed off arabs does not equal jihadist or terrorist. The least you can do if find out who the enemy is. |
