M12 - Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus
M12 (NGC 6218) was discovered by Charles Messier in 1764. Although similar in many respects to its apparent neighbor, M10 it is much less concentrated toward the center. M12 lies at its distance of about 16,000 light years and is 75 light years across http://www.martin-nicholson.info/ten...llenge/m12.htm |
