Miles O'Brien was known for his space reporting for CNN, back in the day
when CNN thought it was important to have a reporter focused on the
topic. CNN's space reporting has declined in quality following
O'Brian's departure from CNN. :-(

magically make space launch cheaper is nonsense -- LOX is much cheaper
than advanced airbreathing engines, and so are the tanks to put it in
and the extra thrust to carry it." - Henry Spencer

Sorry to hear this. Some of my favorite CNN reporters have had serious
tragedies. This story reminded me of John Holloman who also covered NASA
for awhile, before Miles O'Brien if memory serves. He survived the
bombing of Baghdad in a hotel with Bernard Shaw back at the beginning of
Desert Storm only to be killed in a car accident only a few miles from
his home in Atlanta a year or so later.
