Does anyone know if the Antares orthos are the same as the UO orthos?
Thanks.

AFAIKT: Yes, they are (disclaimer: your milage may vary)! Plus, Antares
has recently transitioned from selling the old style 'round tops' (for
lack of a better name here), to selling the newer 'flat tops' that U/O
sells for a 'deluxe' premium, but without raising their prices on the
new models.

Antares is a good quality, reasonably priced EP. I have a 15mm ultra
plossle. They rival any
brand EP in the same class and then some. The old adage applies however,
you get what you can pay for
in astronomy.

That sounds correct as I just purchased my Antares ortho and was expecting
the round top but got the flat top one instead which looks like pictures of
the UO HD. Pretty good deal then, although the vendor said the price will
be increasing very soon. I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
