This article is interesting:

An article in another newspaper claimed that Dante Lauretta, quoted in this
article, claimed that the mission risked changing the asteroid's path so as to
eventually cause it to hit the Earth. I believe that article was mistaken, based
on this one.

And we're still recovering from the LHC destroying Earth with a man-made black hole...
