Lots of nice targets for me if the weather ever clears! They say by
next weekend but that's a quarter moon. I wasn't planning on the Ha
filter but guess I'll have to with that forecast.

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

I agree with you the widefields reveal many interesting candidate targets.

one example is last year's image of NGC7538

I had seen it on this widefield from some time befo

http://www.narrowbandimaging.com/sh2...2hao3_page.htm

and I had made a mental note that I should return to it with a longer focal
length in the future.

with the Stinger 18" last year I did just that:

http://www.narrowbandimaging.com/ngc...2hao3_page.htm

and now I shot an even larger spanning widefield that encompassed the same
object:

http://www.narrowbandimaging.com/sha...2hao3_page.htm

which is easiest found on the map of the same area:

http://www.narrowbandimaging.com/cave_map_page.htm

when you look at it on the widefield and then compare with the view from the
18" it is easily seen that there are a huge number of candidate targets
worth of closer examination with emission line filters. The scale on the
widefield for an object that nearly completely fills the FOV from the 18" is
really small. What's a dot on a 6303 at 150mm is an entire KAF3200 FOV when
viewed at 3366mm g

thanks George

in this case this is a three year old camera and newish filters with a
crusty old '70s or 80s vintage lens....

but in any event what matters is the combination of equipment aimed in the
right part of the sky....

glad you liked them.

Richard you must stop posting these. You are driving me crazy.
My budget is already spent for the year's projects - and every
time time I look at these I have a sleepless night. These are just
too good!

Fond regards -
