Fireball picture from Wales on APOD
A lot of discussion is going on in some meteor groups about this
image: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap031001.html The text could make one think that the picture is showing the actual fireball, but it's probably a meteor trail lit by the setting sun. There are many questions and opinions by experts and people who are trying to be as sceptical as possible. The strangest thing so far is: why hasn't anyone else seen the trail or fireball? The pictures were taken around 19:30 when quite a few people must have been outdoors. Also, there weren't that many clouds in Wales at the time. I would like to know if anyone has seen the fireball/trail or knows someone who has. More info: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/w...st/3155928.stm Yours, Daniel van Os |
