Default Looking for 3d-viewer application (earth satellites)

Try www.satscape.co.uk which features a 3d map.

Also another excellent program is Orbitron.

In my opinion, these satellite tracking programs which are both freeware,
well the latter is 'cardware' are the best I have ever used.

Win2K sp4; WinXP sp1

Hello,
does anybody know a program (Win2K/XP) that gives an 3d-style animated
view on the abundance of satellites that are orbiting the earth?

It should be an application on its own. I don't want an applet that will
only run after I have connected to the internet, like the otherwise
*perfect* "J-Track 3D" Java applet does.

| J-Track 3D - nasa - tracking satellites (Java applet):

I certainly know that I will have to connect to the internet from time
to time to let the program download new vectors (satellite
position/direction/speed - I think it's called "TLE" Two Line Elements)
for a more precise display, but I can't and don't want to connect whenever
I want to take a look at it (or show it to someone).

I'd be most grateful for any advice.
Regards, Fred

btw: merry christmas!
(btw: I heard that our perception of 'santa claus' as a fat man with a
white beard, wearing a red coat with white fur etc. was entirely due to
the Coca Cola marketing department's idea back in the late 1920's or
early 1930's. Especially the specific colors - Coca Cola red, and white.
Jesus ... which again reminds me of the old joke about what the
americans would do if the russians would paint the moon in red color...)
