Don't recall Fillmore promising to look into UFOs, either.

....Ah, but Fillmore *did* promise to sponsor a commission to look into
allegations that Harrison didn't die ot pneumonia, but of a case of
syphallis contracted from a prostitute who was actually an employee of
the opposing party. Or was it the slavery barons? Or the Injuns? Or
his VEEP? Or the European powers seeking to disrupt the upstart
American government?

Teddy Roosevelt would have shot the alien and had him stuffed and put
into the Smithsonian.
