Default The real polluters of the Earth

In the late 1950s the Canadians were concerned over the vast number of Maple
trees whose leaves were shriveling, leading to the ultimate death of their
beloved National symbol. Further investigation concluded that the primary
root cause was acid rain, which was traced back to the large number of coal
fired power plants, most of them located in the upper Midwest of the US.
The US Government immediately initiated remedial action by mandating steps
to clean up the power plant exhaust gasses. It was a two step program,
consisting of static precipitators and limestone slurry baths, in tandem.
The static precipitators imparted a positive charge on the effluent
particles of the furnace gasses, which then were attracted to the negatively
charged collector plates, which then were continuously washed down into
settling ponds. The thusly collected ash was then used in road paving and
the manufacture of abrasive materials, such as sand paper. The gasses then
were passed through huge tanks filled with a mixture of water and limestone,
called a slurry. The limestone absorbed any other impurities left in the
exhaust gasses. I worked as a Startup Engineer on many of those power
plants and witnessed the final test of the cleanliness of the gasses, when a
factory representative entered a glass enclosure and breathed the gasses
leaving the slurry tanks for one hour, without any ill side effects. That
should tell even the most rabid environmental whacko that the air emitted
from the stack was almost as pure as the air induced into the boiler of the
power plant. In contrast, the Chinese put on line one coal fired power
plant a week, without any cleanup of the exhaust gasses. India adds one
coal fired plant every two weeks, also without any remedial equipment.
Thanks to catalytic converters, on-board computers, fuel injection among a
host of other innovations, US cars today emit 3% of the smog their
predecessors did a mere 25 years ago. Los Angeles now has perhaps 2 smoggy
days a year, as compared to 360 smoggy days a not too long ago. All told,
the US is probably the cleanest Nation on Earth when based on a combination
of area, population and amount of vehicles per capita.
The real culprits responsible for the pollution of the Earth are China,
India Russia, most of South America and any country whose name ends in
"stan".

As I look forward to making a little money, the prospect of paying taxes makes me depressed again. Specifically, the self-employment tax. This country shouldn't tax the poor for just trying to make a few bucks to support themselves!

Double-A 8% own usa(read that) Poor people stay poor, and paying taxers makes GOPer Mafia richer.Gas has gone up and up(arco) Thus the poor get poor..How much of that 22 trillion bucks did GOPer Mafia steal? Don't ask,if you do it means your though. If GOP Mafia can kill JFK and Bobby and never even a congress hearing, just think what they can do to you. Trump never ever paid a tax.Mafia would laugh if he did.How can a GOP mafia hit man go to jail when the Mafia owns them all.Staffs them too. Here is a kicker they charge $ 42,000 a prisoner. Two to a cell.Never take them off he books Ha Ha Ha.I'm called a commie when I bring this reality up. Well M&M and I have alwys paid taxes, and every bill.Even Severn Trent Water was paid in full. Kicker is Sever Trent Water was not fit to drink. It killed children(babies) It was in the press and TV,but covered up as fast as could be by Charley Crist.Living 22 years in Florida is an education on GOPer crimes.Biggest GOPer Mafia man is Rick Scott.Just think he is Trump's right hand man.If Trump can be president ,so can Scott.Bert
