Original EOR/EOA VSE proposal

Shortly after the VSE was originally announced, didn't they at one
time consider and all EELV approach to return to the Moon?
With 3 or 4 EELV launches and Earth Orbit Assembly?

I've down loading the original ESAS report to see what the Pro & Cons
of that were. But have a vague memory that the report was biased in
favor of the current "Program of Record" Do any one have better links
or docs on the EOR/EOA approach?

There were many proposals under consideration, but NASA had decided on
nothing prior to ESAS.
