NOAA announced on Tuesday that 2012 was officially the warmest year on
record in the contiguous 48 states, based on 118 years of temperature
records dating back to 1895. While not every state set a record, more
than one-third (19 states) recorded their warmest years, and three-
quarters of the lower 48 states recorded their first-, second-, or
third-hottest years on record. Ninety-five percent -- 46 states -- had
one of their top 10 warmest years ever recorded, and even in the
coolest state, Washington, 2012 was warmer than 72 percent of the
years on record.

Presumably everyone who is ignorant enough to believe that one data
point makes a trend.

you may feel differently once a famine hits the US, and your home is
under tornado watch, and the military budget gets gutted to pay costs
of global warming resulting in large layoffs......

but dont worry now, after all its never occured before

Hurricane sandy was warned about a super storm many years ago, but got
little attention since it never occured before..... low cost fixes
could of prevented the much more serious damage that did occur.....

oh and fred before you say I will just retire you may find the
economic effects of global warming may have hurt your investments
dramatically and brought our already poor economy to the point of
collapse where even social security isnt viable......

so smile now since you may be crying later....

just imagine what a 2 foot ocean level rise will do to the worlds
coasts......

In article 75e8240d-863e-4455-aa8e-
, says...

How many now believe its occuring?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_2433210.html

Why should "belief" enter into this? What ever happened to basing your
world view on the scientific method? What ever happened to basing your
views on peer reviewed articles in scientific journals?

What I'm seeing today are people basing their world views on "beliefs",
"faith", and etc. and it makes me sick.

The sky is falling! *THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smile? *I can't stop laughing at your stupidity long enough to do
that.

That's the only way I'll ever find out, since the worst case says such
a rise is a thousand years and more out.

latest predictions are by 2050 however the glacier melt rate is
increasing, perhaps thanks to to natural gas trapped in the ice.

release of methane in gas could cause the rate to accelerate rapidly

This is OT for this newsgroup. Unless you plan on putting up a sun
shield in space.

Personally, the science is not as settled as various media outlets would
like to have us believe.

BTW, science is not done by consensus. It is done by experiment.

There are plenty other places to go concerning this issue:

Pro-AGW POV: Real Climate Science: www.realclimate.org
Anti-AGW POV: Watts Up With That: wattsupwiththat.com

That said, I'm dropping this thread...

But nobody listens to you seriously because you're an idiot.
