This is a forum for discussion, is it not?

That's my whole point, you loser!

So far all you've done is argue and cast insults.

Must you always have a bone to pick with virtually every offering here? This is a portrait of the Earth and moon from a million miles way, perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for you and me and the rest of the world.

He's a piece of human dog****. What do you expect?

I expect him to learn from his errors... but obviously I'm wrong...

What errors in this thread?

you are NOT the smartest bear on the block, regardless of your thinking otherwise.

Let's see... I check out the -actual- albedo of the Moon and various surfaces (dirt, grass, forests, etc.) of the Earth, look at the animation in monochrome, directly compare the Moon's gray-brown with the Earth's gray-brown land areas, note that the oceans are about the same albedo as well, post an example of a optical illusion that has some bearing on this issue,...

You and peterson, OTOH, are fooled by the Earth's pretty blue ocean and its bright white clouds into thinking that the Moon is "astoundingly" and astonishingly dark, whereas I was not misled.

That simply means that I am smarter than either of you.

This is what you sound like...

peterson, your ideas might be taken more seriously if you would refrain from insulting people after they point out your errors and misconceptions, not to mention your lies.

I've seen nothing to suggest that my ideas aren't taken seriously by
anybody around here who matters.

The truth is, peterson, you don't really seem to have any worthwhile ideas of your own. You are, however, a veritable font of misinformation.

Your earlier statement:

"But you can sure see in these images how dark the surface of the Moon is compared with the Earth."

is ambiguous at best, but in fact your statement is incorrect and misleading to the innocent people who come to you expecting to learn something.

I tried, rather diplomatically, to set the matter straight and for my troubles you called me a "piece of human dog****."

Don't try to evade that truth or lie your way out of that, it's all there for all to see.

"Magical?" Do you think the laws of physics don't apply??

No, he is using the word "magical" in a metaphorical sense.

Possible examples of this usage include sentences like:

Glowena mascara brings a magical allure to your face.

The evening together with you, dancing to the music of the tango, was something
magical that I will always remember.

No violation of the laws of physics is implied in either example.
