Default The laws of gravity

There were no laws, there was an attempt to remove the restrictions between analogies at a human level and large scale motions and structure associated with astronomy and terrestrial sciences. While perpetrating as the laws of motion, laws of physics, scientific method, ect, it presently shows itself more explicitly as the removal of restrictions between a normal greenhouse and our home planet.

"Rule III. The qualities of bodies, which admit neither [intensification] nor remission of degrees, and which are found to belong to all bodies within the reach of our experiments, are to be esteemed the universal qualities of all bodies whatsoever." Newton

There is no way to quantify the damage done by such a generalizations even though it is easy enough to demonstrate what that person tried to do using his terminology of absolute/relative time, space and motion. His followers today couldn't care less as not even the correlation between one 24 hour day and one rotation survives as a fact let alone the proportion of rotations per orbital circuit.

All the labels applied to the worst of human nature apply here, fundamentalism, extremism, radicalism or anything where people sell themselves through their 'law of gravity' ideology. The nature of the con or scam takes a lot of explaining but the fact is that it is within reach of any reasonable and intelligent person as opposed to the unthinking indoctrinated.

I have never doubted the intelligence of people however many lost their battle with empiricism the first day they entered the classroom as children. An artifact of this almost unconscious exposure to a disruptive agenda is the inability to put even the most basic cause and effect into context of their own experiences of the daily and annual motion of the Earth.

As far as Newton goes, the approach he took was removing the limits which distinguish analogies (experimental science) from astronomy and terrestrial sciences. His followers never understood how he went about this agenda but only wet far enough to exploit the devastating and reckless removal of the analogy limits contained in that rule III statement where a rule became elevated to 'laws' and eventually to a 'scientific method'.

It is against this backdrop that genuine astronomy enters the picture and although there is so much working against observers due to their exposure to the journey through the education system which screens out the original perspectives of the old astronomers, the new visual tools of the internet should counter the disruption caused by empirical academics.
