It is amazing the amount of garbage that accumulates here from desperate
people
and their topics that really have little to do with backyard astronomy.
Desperate people
with desperate attempts at communication.

This NG has fewer idiots than most others. Also, notice that they are
cross-posters, they post to several newsgroups at once, usually anything
with a science-type title. They probably never actually read this NG and
have no idea what it's about. That's why they never respond to a response.

I agree with you Linda. But it's just noise from the din of the
world. It's hard to ignore and a pain to filter. I still find it
worthwile to come in for the gems. I especially love to read the
posts from people that are just getting into the hobby and are so
excited that they have to tell everyone about it. I remember feeling
like that and it takes me back a few years.
