USA 81
I just had a near zenith pass of USA 81. Even in the LA suburban
glow it was easy to find in binocs as it passed a couple of good way points, such as Polaris. For the most part it was dim and steady, but shortly after zenith it brightened a mag or two and made a few flashes to an extra few mags. It was naked eye visible at this point. I Did have my D200 set up and ready to go and took a few images. I managed to capture the flare/flash portion, but it's very faint. I will continue to have passes every night of this bird and will try to capture more images. With luck I will get a spectacular pass of full on disco delight!
