I think he mentions that, doesn't he?
Now, get ready for a true wonder.
Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go's showed up naked in Playboy magazine
several years back
At the time Playboy was accused of airbrushing and retouching her photos.
They did _not_ do that... here's a photo of what Belinda Carlisle looks
like in a bra and panties from her photo shoot for Jordan lingerie:

Can you imagine what that Playboy photographer thought, looking at her?
"I don't care who you have lined up as "Playmate Of The Month"...just
ditch her right now, Heff... trust me."
_God-damn_, what a doll!

urrrrrggggghhhh... There's enough silicone there to fix the hole in the
Titanic.

And, of course, one of Mr. Lileks best new articles...the 1973 Sears
catalog of mod fashions:

The model on the left is Shelly Hack, from Charlie's Angles.

You swine, we are at war!
Just as she is married to James Mason's son, I turn my wrath against you
like Captain Nemo turned his wrath against that "Most Hated Of All

Nations".
From this moment on, dread a strange roaring and whirring sound in the
toilet you sit upon....for the powerful ram of the Nautilus seeks to
strike you below the waterline, with fatal results. :-)

Nemo
Vulcania

Careful mate; I might enjoy that!

Then up to the donut space station hotel for a little R&R.

200 mph Air Cushion car? Just what we need - multiton Air Hockey Pucks
zooming around at 400+ ft/sec.

With folks driving with cellphones to their ears...

Well of course, because if you hold it elsewhere, you can't hear as well.

....No, actually, they did. They had to cover up some long-standing
heroin lines, as well as some stretch marks from her fat period back
when she first started with the Ho-Ho's.

....Incidentally, Kathy Valentine grew up in my neighborhood. Although
I didn't know her all that well, the general concensus at the time was
that she was a dyke - girls don't play bass guitar or cut their hair
short like that. Much to everyone's surprise she's married to a lawyer
and has like two kids. Go figure.

Take a look at that photo of her and see if you can see any stretch
marks. ;-)
As far as heroin goes, the only Go-Go I ever heard of who had a heroin
habit was Charlotte Caffey, and it shook up the rest of the band when
they found out about it...as everyone else was doing cocaine, which
Belinda used to literally have a shoe box full of.

You ever see "Ball-Busting With The Go-Gos" and you'll find out all
about her idea of fun...it's pretty rough.

Well, apparently that was one guy whose testicles she didn't set on
fire, like the poor unconscious roadie in that slice of life videotape.

....Belinda had tried it during her fat years - the period best viewed
by their appearance on "Urgh! A Music War!", where it's obvious she's
at least 160lbs at the minimum, and is wearing a dress designed to try
to force the flab inside out - and apparently the two or three times
burned the veins *that* bad. I've known junkies whose vein burns
lasted twenty *years* after they quit the habit. It all depends on the
concentration and purity of the fix - some of that stuff they cut it
with was pretty caustic.

....The Coke Box bit I already knew about, tho.

Wow! I just read this. Fascinating. I like the part about the cars
parking themselves and the central computer maintaining routes, etc.

I also like the incorrect reference that not every household will have
their own computer and we'd still be renting time (i.e. mainframe time-
sharing).

It's amazing how we surpassed the computer expectation though not the
travel expectation. Also the prediction of 350 million Americans when
we recently passed 300 million (http://www.census.gov/population/www/
popclockus.html).

I like the reference to a flat screen TV, even though it was in a car.
Money is still here and not credits, though we do more with credit and
cards, etc, than we did back in 1968.

Though no mention of the Internet they do refer to ecommerce and on-
line classes for education.

I'd say that the automated aspects of farming as predicted are pretty
darn close.

Heck the article alludes to MRI for medical examination but does not
mention orthoscopic surgery.

We do not have a smart pill but we sure as hell have the equivalent
for bodies in regards to steroids. Look at major league baseball. I
suspect that like steriods being bad for you, a smart pill, if it were
ro exist, would also have its downside.

All in all an interesting article.

Eric
