Thank you too
I 'll be to USA in august 2017. For to visit the USA, to Phoenix, to
Flagstaff, to meteor crater,

If you are going there, definitely go to the south ridge
of the Grand Canyon. A really big place.

to Yellowstone,

Yes, definitely spend 2 days viewing that park.
Many, totally different things to view.

to Idaho fall for see total eclipse, to Rushmore mount, to Denver.........
I was told it was a country where it rains every time

Weather in August should mostly be good.
Be sure some evenings, go well away from city
lights and view the clear night sky.
A couple of years ago, between Grand Canyon
and Bryce Canyon, we were awed by the Milky Way
from Marble Canyon. Enjoy!

and All over, so we can nothing to make, impossible to go out. I do not
know if this is a good idea for the holidays :-)

thanks for the advice

I 'll go with a astronomy 's club. In France we have not good sky for
astronomy observation, too much populated. We'll take a telescope

I hope I could see the milky way without pollution's light

If you are with a group of other people, your night's
lodging may be set & in a decent size town.
We were off the beaten path!
Specificly, we were at the little motel, in the little
business area called Marble Canyon, Arizona.
Walk a little bit down a dirt road away from the
business & it's street light, and
BAMO!! Almost NO light polution!
Huge night sky with clearly visable Milky Way!!
My wife had an application on her phone so when she
turned it on and pointed it at sky, it told her all
the names of the night sky objects. Cool beans dude!!

I've no idea about your interests, or your ability to make
the plans, but let me at least suggest,
about 2 hours drive east of Yellowstone is Cody Wyoming.

Huge museum (about 5 different ones in one place)
and if you want to see a real bit of Americana,
definitely check ahead and view the Cody night rodeo!

I have never been more surprised. This museum is second to none I've seen.
If you're within 100 miles of Cody, it will be well worth your time to see
it. We took a two week tour of the west to see the monuments and national
parks and this museum stands out as one of my favorite attractions. The
largest gun collection in the WORLD. That's just a small part of it."

Unfortunately, the hotels in Cody have decided that it is OK to jack
up the price of a room by an order of magnitude. I don't know if
campsites have followed suit.

Just at the north of canyon is many Lavenders fields

If you interesting you at the canyons. I live to Cavalaire near biggest
submarine canyon Mediterranean. Because it is from 5,69 to 5,33 millions
years, the Strait of Gibraltar did close tight and the Mediterranean sea did
evaporate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messinian_salinity_crisis

All rivers have digged canyons, but when the Mediterranean is comeback, the
rivers deposited sediments and refilled the canyons, except few canyons like
the stoechades canyon. It did not refilled because it is not in axis of the
river. We can see it on google earth. The Islands of Hyères are the edge of
the canyon
