Default Angle of CMEs

I heard the recent flares were not directed right at earth; does anyone know
the angle? Also, was it a C,M, or X class flare?

Do we have enough records to identify a flare pointed head on? When was
that?

Also, it takes 8 minutes for light to reach earth but it takes 2 days for
the particle storm to reach us? What actually is the 'particle storm' made
of?
