I have one of the highest electric bills in my entire complex and it's
mostly
because of these apps. In the summer it's not just the extra electric
usage
strictly from from running the apps but the extra demand on the A.C.. Of
course in the winter the heat helps, if the furnace breaks it's no
biggie, I
rarely use it. :-)

Unless you live in France, or are using a heat pump, that's probably not
the
most economical way to heat your home in the winter.

You should invest in a computer that runs on wood pellets....

;-)

Add to that the fact that I pay for the electric and the landlord pays for
the heat then I come out to be a real idiot but a great tenant in these cold
climes.

(Landlord) I would like you to remove your extra air conditioner. It's
December and the heat is on.

(Me) But I'm still using it!!

Hmmm, a germ for a sci-fi book here. Alien intelligences reprogram our
computers via our burgeoning wireless networks, most of which are left open
and unsecured.

This assumes much though. Like the commonality of Wintel PCs in the universe
for example. Some would argue that Windows itself is an alien virus however.

I know you can hack into alien computers with it in a matter of seconds,
as was shown in "Independence Day".
