Default How to Guarantee Maximum Shuttle Safety

Why didn't somebody else think of this? Its foolproof.

There's a team of guys who decide go or no-go for a shuttle launch. So,
they draw straws and one suits up with regular astronauts, taking the seat
of one. Yes, its dead weight, but so was the school teacher on that
ill-fated flight way back when.

Knowing that one of their groupies is going flying above the wild blue
younder will bring some discipline to the process. You can reasonably
trust their judgement just as you can trust the pilot of a United Airlines
flight. After all, if something goes wrong he'll be the first one to
arrive at the accident.

The sum total of all the elements of safety gels when that member of
management hears the hatch closed on him. Am I on target this time?

Its a interesting idea, and might help. But the shuttle isnt foolproof, and RTF
GUARANTEES more deaths.

..
..
End the dangerous wasteful shuttle now before it kills any more astronauts....
