Wouldn't that be a trip? I'd have to get NBC to cover the cost.

Have you received your invitation to cover this historic launch in China
from the Chinese yet?

Hopefully the Chinese will not take the Russian approach (limited broadcast
and media) to the Shenzhou-5 launch.

I watched Glenn's launch on TV at school, and my classroom had
a cardboard mockup of the Mercury capsule - courtesy of McDonnell
(located 100 miles south in St. Louis).

Then I attended John Glenn's 1998 Discovery flight at the Cape.

It looks liek the launch will be about 4 weeks before the Centennial of the
Wright Broathers flight.

Has anyone determined how much of the technology is actually genuinely
Chinese home-grown?

Does it matter?

Only in terms of rebuilding, expansion, and adaptation.

I doubt that there's _anything_ in the craft that the Chinese
cannot design and build themselves... now.
