Default Wireless in Space

I see from a recent announcement (on sci.space.news) that TransOrbital
intends using wireless communications aboard its Trailblazer spacecraft.
For example, between the cameras ("tethered on the outside of the
spacecraft") and its other systems.

Has wireless been much used on spacecraft before?

Only in manned spacecraft. In general, it's simple enough just to run
wires -- you're going to have to do that for power anyway -- unless the
spacecraft is something really unusual.
