Overpopulate one planet and move on to the next? (was: Call for Space Settlement as Core of Human Space flight Agenda)
(John Ordover) :
If we get a working BeanStalk your prediction of only a million people will look very foolish in the future. Think Wright Brothers and modern airports. Earl Colby Pottinger But we won't, because as nifty as the idea is, we lack the physical knowledge to create it, we lack the economic to build it, and it's tall enough to be a threat to its neighbors if it ever fell down. So it won't happen. Is there a special school to train people to be an idiot like you? I gave the example of the Wright Brothers and modern airports one hundred years later, and you think you know the limits of what we can do in the future. Well, atleast you can be famous and go down in history with the other idiots who predicted trains would kill people because they would go so fast that people can't breath, or airplane will not work because the engines are too heavy. Or the one that you probably believe yourself, that rockets can't work in space because there is nothing to push against. Earl Colby Pottinger -- I make public email sent to me! Hydrogen Peroxide Rockets, OpenBeos, SerialTransfer 3.0, RAMDISK, BoatBuilding, DIY TabletPC. What happened to the time? http://webhome.idirect.com/~earlcp |

He has his beliefs, and won't allow himself to be confused by logic or facts. Cheers, - Joe ,------------------------------------------------------------------. | Joseph J.
