You could have paid for 187 new Shuttle missles. Or perhaps 10 ice-
drilling missions to Jupiter and Saturn's moons.

Or the same accomplished for less than 10% of what the all-inclusive
9/11 fiasco has cost us, and there'd be loot to spare for
accomplishing Venus.

“Guth Venus” 1:1, plus 10x resample/enlargement of the area in

BTW; there's still no American flags on Venus, but there are USSR/
Russian flags on landers that got there decades before us. So,
perhaps we have to accept that Venus and all of its natural resources
belongs to Russia.

Are you suggesting the self inflected Karma of the 9/11 fiasco and its
wars were cheap because human life isn't worth anything?

Using that logic the Moon and all it's natural resources belongs to the
USA and the USA alone. And there are US flags on Mars, so Mars and all
it's resources also belong to the USA.

You Ok with that ?

======================================
Yep, if you are ok with the British flag being on Antarctica so all it's
natural resources belong to Britain and Britain alone. We've already
set up the atmosphere and water supply so we are well on the way to
terraforming it. We've owned Antarctica since 1773. You may have
some slight difficulty with air on Mars and the Moon.

Sure thing, although Russia does have at least some claim to our moon,
and of what we've sent to Mars is perhaps worth more than Mars
itself. However, Venus may already have ETs or possibly even
indigenous forms of intelligent life to consider.

Have another look at what seems unusually artificial about the terrain
of Venus.

For the cost of the Cars-for-Clunkers we could have sent a second
Curiosity-class rover.
For the cost of the Porkulus bill we could have sent hundreds of
rovers, and for the eventual cost of 0bamacare....thousands.
