Default Dew Shield for 9x60mm Meade Finder

Kenneth Brown wrote:

I just purchased a 9x60mm Meade finder. The seller suggested I add a
dew shield to darken the field and help cut down on condensation. Do
any of you guys know where I can find one? I would prefer to add
something more permanent than a cardboard dew shield secured with a
rubber band. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ken

I went to the craft store and picked up black "craft foam" (about 3/32"
thick, costs about a buck) and wrapped it around the end of my ST80,
holding it in place with a small nylon cinch strap (available in the
outdoor section of many fine stores like K-Mart). It is waterproof
and stores flat when not in use. Also does a great job of keeping dew
off. Use a piece that extends beyond the objective about 3 times the
diameter of the objective.

Regards,
Russell
