Default Lunar Observing, or All Observing for that Matter

Hi There,

You might want to get a Moon Atlas so that you can easilly identify
what you are looking at and also to help plan your observing sessions.

The best free one is, in my opinion, the Virtual Atlas of the Moon.
You can download it for free at the following address,

http://astrosurf.com/avl/UK_download.html

There are a lot of photo files that you can download. The LOPAM files
should probably be your first choice.

good luck.

I bought a scope because I enjoy just looking up and "seeing" the universe
around me. However, I'd like to do some observing, sketching, taking of
notes, so I thought I would ask. How do you "observe" when you are observing
for the sake of "observing" and not just "seeing"? I realize this is vague,
but I am not sure how to put my question. I am hoping someone with the same
passion will recognize and be able to answer me. *laugh*

I think the moon is a good example. I was enjoying viewing it last night,
but I'd like to "observe" it, learn about it, etc. *sigh* I am not making
any sense.

Good question! The answer won't be the same for everyone and is
likely to change a bit on an individual basis as time marches by.
Nevertheless, I'll see what I can do about providing an answer:

Awesome, thanks!
