The end of the world is the same as the theory of everything - they have no meaning whatsoever .

It's in the head of some people.
They may born again the next day?

The oldest question in Christianity - how can a person already born experience an entirely new life ?. The answer is when convictions give way to inspiration where the spiritual informs the physical.

The Christian finds a natural home in astronomy in the physical connection between the individual and Universal, in a dawn, in the peace of an evening, in the changing colors of nature through the seasons, in the great heritage left to us, in the fact that our bodies know the rhythms of the motions of the Earth and so many more things. It is not a question of knowing more but feeling more and that was always the point where Christianity sparked into life.

Very nicely put!
But Christians want to be above the physical world and prepare for heaven!
As Jesus said to Pilot - His kingdom is not on this world!
Church tells people not to fall in love in nature, but rather into the glory of heaven, that's the ultimate goal!
Life here is short and temporarily!

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.…

If that were true the churches would not be massive investment funds, child abusers, torturers, murderers and property empires. Not necessarily in that order.

There have been about half million different religions [and cults] so far.
Why should any particular brand of snake oil be considered beneficial?
Except to its wealthy copyright owners, of course.

If the world ends today and I end up in some fictitious "Heaven" then I shall be sorely disappointed!
I don't want to be sharing a single second, let alone eternity, with the smuggest bunch of hypocrites and boors on the [former] planet!
Nor do I want to find myself completely alone "up there!"
Fortunately there is a vanishingly small chance that 1461 would ever be considered worthy of an application form.
Let alone a ticket to ride on Kim's rocket. ;-)

The 'world' in the language of John through Jesus was often a substitute for the humdrum daily concerns and Pilate recognized this. The idea is not to have more or know more but to feel more and that is why it is so easy to fall in love with astronomy and the rich historical and technical heritage it contains. When Jesus said the spirit gives life while the flesh is of no avail he was bringing the journey from child to adult into the inspirational realm and so what if some people think in terms of reward after death, others experience the satisfaction of inspiration in this life.

Well, it is already the 24th in Australia, so the prediction is found to be false
