In constant change to match the needs of the people who use it. The mixing of many nationalities and races within the USA would seem to be the primary melting pot for what we call English. "Don't you know, Eh what, Old Chap", were once in everyday use by the "toffee-nosed" gentlepersons portrayed in British childrens comics & films of the time. Today it sounds simply ludicrous. I hate the term "looking to" (do something). It is the lingual equivalent of mooning as far as I am concerned. Chris.B |
