Space Station Crew Conducts Science Experiments

The Expedition 10 crew worked with several experiments aboard the
International Space Station. Commander Leroy Chiao conducted the second part
of the Binary Colloid Alloy Test 3, which is studying the long-term behavior
of colloids -- a system of fine particles suspended in a fluid -- in a
microgravity environment, where the effects of sedimentation and convection
are removed. Crewmembers will even out the samples, photograph the growth
and formations of the colloids, and downlink the images for analysis.

Flight Engineer Salizhan Sharipov completed his first session with the the
Effect of Prolonged Space Flight on Human Skeletal Muscle (Biopsy). This
biomedical study seeks to establish the basis for reductions in limb muscle
size, force and power at the cellular level that are induced by
microgravity.

The crewmembers also deployed noise meters in the ISS and conducted their
daily exercise routine.

On the ground, Expedition 9 is in Star City, Russia, for several weeks of
post-flight debriefings and medical exams before returning to Houston in
mid-November.

Tuesday also marked the fourth anniversary of the Expedition 1's arrival to
the International Space Station. Since then, nine more crews have maintained
permanent human habitation of the orbital outpost.

After all they are VERY BUSY just trying to keep it running...........
..
..
End the dangerous wasteful shuttle now before it kills any more astronauts....
