I have no interest in monetary concerns of astrophotographers and their hobby but with the development of high resolution monitors the next stage in astrophotography would be remote observing supplied by vendors to a living room or office . No need to travel up a mountain in Chile when renting a high end telescope and having control of it from a different country would give the same outcome. It would be less of a rich person's pursuit and more within the realm of those who have enough curiosity to pursue imaging without the technical knowhow , of course it robs the astronomical version of petrolheads the fussing over details.

Fish in a barrel to do photography then. No sense of accomplishment doing that.

The chance to use a large/largish telescope in the clearest possible atmospheric conditions with an element of quasi-control outweighs the expense of travelling to that region or being stuck with a smaller telescope in less than ideal conditions.

I see Roland argue this point to a degree and to be fair to him he doesn't plug his own merchandize on the forum but after considering the sheer muck of imaging from the South Pole camera, it did cross my mind that some people may wish to have imaging without having comprehensive knowledge of a telescope much like a person using a laptop or driving a car doesn't need so much engineering knowledge.
