Default Guide to the Galaxy: Time for an Update?

It's been roughly a decade since that particular book, one that's proven
quite useful and entertaining in my opinion, by Henbest and Couper first
saw print. We've learned quite a bit more in that time, so I'm
wondering: is it time to organize a revised edition?

Not exactly answering your question, but there were two fascinating
conferences this summer on the Milky Way Galaxy. One was a
three(?)-day symposium at Boston University, the other was a
celebration of the 60th birthdays of Don Cox and Ron Reynolds (and was
held in Spain). I'm hoping that there will be proceedings from both,
though, these would be admittedly technical. [Yes, I'm hoping for
proceedings because other commitments forced me to miss both
conferences. ]
