Default Coal Fired Power Plants

Here is a summary of the of the World's Coal Fired Power Plants, active and
planned for construction. It is time for the Liberal Lefty Doomsday Loons
to pull their respective noggins out of their rectums and realize that the
US contribution to their dreaded Global Warming with CO2 emissions is a
fraction of a percent.
Good God, you brainwashed people are really stupid

Once again, Hagar, you present a document that you have not verified, choosing instead to present it here as though it were god's truth.

If you really believe that the US only has 15 coal plants, as claimed on that paper, well, I've got a bridge for sale that you might be interested in buying.

Here you go...

https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-w...l-power-plants

Go ahead, zoom in on the USA and count them for yourself. Sure a lot of coal plants are closing here, or are scheduled to close, but there are still a LOT of them around. Oh, and that graph on the left with the orange lines, you can use the drop-down menu and pick the country of your choice to see the coal output of each nation. Sure, China is the biggest consumer of coal in the world, by far, but the USA is second on the list, considering that coal provided 27.4% of the USA's total power in 2018, as per Wiki...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_p..._United_States

Here is a handy-dandy list of the over 600 exiting coal plants in the USA today...

https://www.sourcewatch.org/index.ph..._United_States

Just who is the brainwashed and stupid one here?

Coal needs to go, not just here, but worldwide... but not in our lifetimes, no, it just ain't gonna happen. It won't happen on my 1-month-old grandson's life, either.

And you need to verify your sources because from where I am sitting you get it wrong in most of your posts...

*** Palsing, you ignorant Liberal doomsdayer slut ...
during the 70s and 80s I worked as a Startup Engineer on the commissioning
of a number of coal fired power plants in the Mid-West and the South. Every
one of them had Static Precipitators, which removed ash particulate of the
effluent gasses by statically charging them, which them attracted them to
collector plates, from where the ash was washed into hoppers and then routed
into settling ponds. The now almost ash free gasses were then routed
through dual Limestone Slurry Tanks, where any remaining impurities were
removed and by chemically action. The manufacturers of the systems
demonstrated their efficiency by a Factory Rep inhaling the cooled effluent
stack gasses for 10 minutes. All US Coal Plants have employed those two
systems since they became mandatory in the mid 70s.
You really have your head up your ass, Palsing and I am sure that any
documentation I could dig up would not meet with your utterly skewed and
twisted opinion of status of the 18 remaining Coal Plants in the US. You
can drag out your ridiculous stats of a bygone era all day long ... you are
just plain wrong ... and ignorant, like the rest of you hapless morons.

I have no reason to doubt these statements and I'm glad that US coal plants are as clean as they can be... but so what?

You really have your head up your ass, Palsing and I am sure that any

twisted opinion of status of the 18 remaining Coal Plants in the US. You
can drag out your ridiculous stats of a bygone era all day long ... you are

If you think I am wrong, all you need to do is present evidence to support your position, which you have not done. A personal story is not evidence of anything.

Just 18 remaining coal plants in the US, you say? Name them. You are either a liar or a fool... and I would like to assume that you are not a liar.

And yet, you present a bull**** document from ****ing Google Docs and defend it like it was the ****ing bible.

You have zero credibility in my view. everything in that document was manufactured to present a particular political bent, and you know it.

If the links I presented are skewed then I invite you to ****ing prove it. Otherwise, go pound sand. I didn't manufacture those links, they are freely available for anyone to find. If you have a beef with them, take it up with the people presenting them.

The link I referenced about the 600+ coal plants is from 2015. Are you trying to say that 585 have closed within the last 4 years? I rather doubt that.. You have evidence otherwise? Present it. You don't get to make up evidence.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, I only consider the facts. A ****ing Google document is NOT the facts. Sure, Wiki may not be perfect, but at least it has 40 references. Does your precious Google doc have even one reference? I didn't think so...

You have a lot to learn about evidence. So far you have presented exactly ZERO... just because I outed you on a weak argument is no reason to attack the messenger, you just need to get your own **** straight before barfing all over this forum.

It is you, after all, who has his cranial calculator firmly entrenched in its rectal storage facility...

IF mankind is still here, and has not polluted itself out of existence, then future energy needs will be met with clean, reliable and unlimited nuclear. All research should be in this dirrection.

OKAY,.....YOU ARE A COMMIE. Who proves that brainwashed people really are
stupid.
Rachel madcow released one of Trumps tax reurns that proved he pays MILLIONS
in taxes.
Mueller released a report that says NO COLLUSION WITH THE RUSSKIES.
After 3 years, no NEW wars under trump, and he's negotiating with North
Korea, and China,.....without firing a warning shot.
He's building the Wall, and the money we gained from renegotiating NAFTA
with Mexico is more that covering the cost.
And he called Trudope from Canada a weak pathetic soy-boi sissy. Which even
the Simpsons backed him up on.

But you keep believing what you have been programmed to.

There !, see how easy that was to keep both you and Hagar happy.

Now how 'bout we talk about Thorium salt reactors ?

I don't have to prove anything to you, Palsing. If you and your ignorant
ilk are convinced that life on Earth will end in 12 years unless we all turn
over our bank accounts to the Liberal Socialist/Democrats, who can't even
fix immigration laws, then all I can say is a hearty "Go for it".
There is a correction to the 18 coal fired power plants in the US, and that
id that most "Power Plants" are actually dual units of 600 to 750MW each. So
the actual number of plants is probably around 36. I could probably take the
time and name all of them, but then deadbeats like you aren't worth the
effort. And even if I did, you'd come up with some other bull****, just like
your brainless Democrat brethren on Congress. You're on an endless litany of
self pity. I just want to see your dumb-ass face 12 years from now when
NOTHING has changed ....
This discussion is over, since it is no fun engaging in a battle of wits

Default Coal Fired Power Plants - into electric cars

Any way you slice it, if the energy for transportayion comes from fossil fuel burning, then there is still the most undesireable carbon footprint. That's 99+ % . Solar and wind are impractical. Only good answer is nuclear done right.

This discussion over for you because you can't possibly show that anything I referenced is wrong... but you just won't admit it since your not adult enough, apparently... in which case I don't blame you for being a quitter.

As for your claim that there are only about 36 coal-fired power plants in the USA, well...

https://www.sourcewatch.org/index.ph..._United_States

.... and here is the list of just those that start with the letter "A"...

A. B. Brown Generating Station
A.E. Staley Decatur Power Plant
Abitibi Snowflake Power Plant
ACE Cogeneration Facility
AEP Ohio
AES Greenidge Generation Plant
AES Hawaii Generation Plant
AES Hickling Generation Plant
AES Jennison Generation Plant
AES Shady Point Generation Plant
AES Somerset Generation Plant
AES Thames Generation Plant
AES Warrior Run Generation Plant
AES Westover Generation Plant
Ag Processing Eagle Grove Power Plant
Albright power station
Allen Fossil Plant
Allen S. King Generating Plant
Alloy Steam Station
Alma Station
Altavista Power Station
Amalgamated Sugar Nampa Power Plant
Amalgamated Sugar Twin Falls Power Plant
American Crystal Crookston Power Plant
American Crystal Drayton Power Plant
American Crystal East Grand Forks Power Plant
American Crystal Hillsboro Power Plant
American Crystal Moorhead Power Plant
American Eagle Paper Power Plant
Ames Municipal Power Plant
Amos Plant
Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Power Plant
Antelope Valley Station
Apache Generating Station
Aquila
Arapahoe Station
Archer Daniels Midland Cedar Rapids Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Clinton Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Decatur Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Des Moines Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Lincoln Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Mankato Power Plant
Archer Daniels Midland Peoria Power Plant
Argus Cogeneration Plant
Armstrong power station
Asbury Generating Station
Asheville Plant
Ashtabula power station
Avon Lake Power Plant

.... and this list goes on and on with about 600 total entries. Admittedly, this page is from 2015 and is undoubtedly a shorter list now, but it is unlikely that our country has shed 90% or 95% of these coal plants in the last 4 years.

Sure, some of them may be quite small, but nevertheless, your claim of "about 36" is laughable. Again, if you can show that this reference is incorrect (as of 2015), be my guest.

I won't argue with good logic, but clearly, you have no problem with that.
