Absolutely not!

The idea of the Moon careering off at speeds somehow fast enough to reach
many other planets yet slow enough to let the Eagles go to said planets is
pathetic.

Well, so is designing UFOs that have no landing gear on them so they
hardly ever come down in anything less than a controlled crash at best
is also, so what's your point?
I just want to see those purple-haired-Moon-ladies with around 1/4 pound
of eye makeup on apiece again.
What looked a bit strange back then would look downright surreal today.
It could start a whole new retro fashion craze.
....and God knows it would be marginally more attractive than those
octagonal eyeglass frames that women thought looked good a few years back.
The romantic concept of: "You know, with your glasses off, you are very
beautiful, aren't you?" should never have been replaced with: "With
those little horrors on, you look like you really would like to have
worked for the East German Secret Police's torture division, don't you?
Get away from me, you sick little sadist!".
