The largest single telescope in the Southern Hemisphere has been inaugurated
in South Africa. The BBC's Nick Miles visited Sutherland shortly before the
inauguration.

Heh. You'll get much more indepth info from the "hard core" astronomy
news sites (e.g. S&T, SpaceRef, Spaceflightnow etc.) than with the BBC.

Yes, it does; it clearly states that it is a 100 ton telescope. ;-)
