Default Whatever happened to Gerard O'Neill

He and Carl Sagan had their mugs on TV way back when on an almost weekly
basis on various ed channels. I know Saganl died, but where is O'Neill ??
He was an enthusiaastic space advocate and presented some very plausible
ideas of planetary exploration ... then he just vanished.

O'Neill died of Leukemia in 1992.

I keep a website devoted to his space settlement concepts at

We should ask, critically and with appeal to the numbers, whether the
best site for a growing advancing industrial society is Earth, the
Moon, Mars, some other planet, or somewhere else entirely.
Surprisingly, the answer will be inescapable - the best site is
"somewhere else entirely."
