Somebody was up late last night...

This discussion has to some degree run off the rails. This is largely my
fault, I *was* being flippant and introducing humor to try to stimulate
discussion. I consider Jorge an on-line friend, who has forthrightly
answered my questions on several occasions. If I have offended, it was
not my intention and I apologize.

I mean seriously, do you think I was being serious in my comments about
elevator controls and WalMart greeters?

Yeah, I was probably up a little late and was trying too hard to fill in
the "crusty curmudgeon" gap created when Derek left sci.space.*. I stand
behind the technical content of my post but my tone was excessively
harsh and for that I apologize. Peace?

Peace! Sorry should have responded sooner, I've been busy this past week and
just getting back to full review of threads...

You know, in a strange sort of way, I really miss Derek here. He was always
good at getting feet back on the ground, including my own.

So Jorge what's up with you during this transitional phase? You writing any
new books?

And speaking of retirement, I could not help but notice the large majority of
grey hair in the 'white room' and behind the consoles @KSC yesterday. It was
kind of like Harry's Barbershop closed early in order to go launch a shuttle.
Only the near retiree's left at the switch? Everyone else with families at KSC
let go with severance or found employment elsewhere?

I mean really, I think of all that infrastructure shutting down, I don't know
I get irritated every time I think of it. We *really* need a better paradigm
for how to run a multi-generational space program. And let's admit it to
ourselves now, ANY meaningful space program by definition is
multi-generational....
