Default moon rise/set

hi,
i'm writing a program to calculate the moonphase for any given date
[in tcl if ur interested], so far i have it so i can calculate what
moonphase it is for a given date with reasonable accuracy, but i'd like to
be able to tell the rise/set time for any given location.

does anyone out there have information on how to calculate this accurately
using longditude and lattitude, etc?

thanks
-g

Get a copy of "Astronomical Algorithms" by Jean Meeus from Willmann-Bell.

A generic Basic code for moon rise/set is downloadable from this Sky &
Telescope link. Scroll down till you find MOONUP.BAS (July 1989).

I have also created QBasic code for the same and more clearly set out with
the example as in Meeus' Astronomical Algorithms. In addition it has the
transit time too. I could post it on this newsgroup or email it to you
directly if you are still interested. Take out "nospam" and numerals
embedded in address to reply.
