Default a new (BIG) Ares-1 (liftoff-drift) problem (and my suggestions toFIX it)

..
..

it seems that Ares-1 has some new (BIG) problems:

but, don't worry!

there are (at least) TWO cheap, simple and reliable ways to SOLVE the
Ares-1 liftoff-drift issue, as explained in this ghostNASA article:

You are such a fool and your ideas just show that you know nothing
about

Your TWO ideas aren't simple and reliable.

Fins won't work and in fact will make the problem worse

The Ares is moving too slow for the fins to be able to provide
correction.
Additional, the sail area of the fin would mean the wind could blow
the Ares closer to the tower.

Of course, gaetanomarano is going to say I am wrong but he doesn't
have the knowledge to prove it

As for the thruster idea,

1. It can't be small, it would need to be big. Too big to be added
2. The thrusters mean more complexity and there is not "simple"
3. the thruster mean more weight and therefore reduce payload
4. It won't work because the Ares guidance system wouldn't know if it
drifts too close. It has no need for such accuracy. There aren't
viable changes to the guidance system to fix it

Good engineers don't fix problems by adding more systems, they correct
the problem

in my opinion (both) Ares-I and Ares-V could NEVER fly once! ...could NASA rockets win vs. privates on launch date and prices? gaetanomarano Policy 0 May 10th 07 11:11 PM
