Is he a different Jenkins, or one of this group's founders?

A quick google finds
http://groups.google.com/groups?selm...40uunet.uu.net -
one of the two Calls For Votes to create ssh, which mentions the two
proponents. One of them is still posting, and the other is the one to
whom the reference was...

And the result of the vote (with a list of those voting for and against
can be found at:

http://groups.google.com/groups?selm...40uunet.uu.net

Lots of familiar names there, even if some of the e-mail addresses have
changed.

....And I guess Maxson wants to know who they are so he can have his
hire-a-pig ******* go make false accusations against them with their
employers, eh?

....What I've always wondered was why those who voted against the group
did so. The group passed with such a wide margin the only reason I
could see voting against it is because you're either one of those who
thinks usenet should be no more than 10 subgroups under the Big 8, or
you hated the guys who proposed the group.
