Default advice on choosing a scope

Hi,

I am considering getting a 16" LX200, the problem is I had a 12"LX200 and
found the drives
under powered for such a large scope. I found out that Meade use the same
Motors in the
8", 10", and 12" LX200, has anyone with a 16"LX200 had problems with there
scope? and
if yes, what sort of problems do you have? I will be very grateful for any
advice, thanks.

Regards Jim.

I've got no advice, but it's a nice decision you've got on your hands :O)

No experience but I'm told that the reason for the massive price hike
between 14 inch and 16 inch is build quality and drive quality. There
are a lot of university domes with 16inch LX200 less with 14inch
because the 16s last longer.
