SLS a threat to JSC, Texas jobs
Space Launch System is a threat to JSC, Texas jobs By Chris Kraft and Tom Moser Updated 08:20 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 http://www.chron.com/opinion/outlook...h-System-is-a- threat-to-JSC-Texas-jobs-3498836.php From above: "The SLS-based strategy is unaffordable, by definition, since the costs of developing, let alone operating, the SLS within a fixed or declining budget has crowded out funding for critical elements needed for any real deep space human exploration program." It's about time someone who ought to know better spoke up about the SLS debacle. Jeff -- " Ares 1 is a prime example of the fact that NASA just can't get it up anymore... and when they can, it doesn't stay up long. " - tinker |

Where was Mr. Kraft when NASA was bungling billions on the even more expensive, even harder to justifty Ares I / Ares V tandem? Far too late now. Brian |

Now it's just a question of how much money can pi$$ away before the program is finally put out of its misery. Either that or SLS will become the human spaceflight program, like shuttle was before it had a destination (Mir then ISS). You know, lots of short up and down flights to uninspiring locations because we won't be able to fund anything as ambitious as a lunar or Mars lander with SLS sucking up all of the funding. :-P Jeff -- " Ares 1 is a prime example of the fact that NASA just can't get it up anymore... and when they can, it doesn't stay up long.
