Why Something Rather than Nothing ????
Reality is even when humankind is clever enough to have a complete GUT
this question will still go unanswered. Sad but reality bert |

It's called the Unified Field of Spatial Flows. But as long as the entrenched paradigm of 'no medium' holds sway, of course there can be no GUT. Unification of gravity will forever remain the "wild card" under the present doctrine. Any and all attempts at unification will amount to chasing the rainbow. One simple adjustment to the sitting paradigm is all it would take to fix it: replace the "void" with the sub-Planck- wavelength, energy dense, hyperpressurized Plenum of space.. recognize it as a compressible/expansible Fluid amenable to *pressure/density gradients*. THEN unification of gravity happens as a spinoff and side effect, unsought and unsolicited, like a friendly dog that trotted in the back door and sat down smiling. :-) The literal, acting mechanisms whose *effects* are merely described by SR/GR and QM will be _explained_. But you're quite right - the answer to the GUT ain't gonna happen anytime in the foreseeable future. The 'no medium' doctrine is too powerfully entrenched. oc |

It is not surprising we live in a universe where things exist." Another way of looking at it is as follows: whenever there is a vacuum, fluctuations in the energy level occur, due to Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. This leads to the formation of a new Universe. (At least, according to one account of how the Big Bang happened.) By the way, Charles, are you a fan of Tanita Tikaram? |

As to "family" and "relationships" .. I belong to a huge clan .. but I am so happy never to meet anyone of them in person ;- C. Oh right, yeah! Families can be difficult, but deep down, they're the ones that really love you, I guess. I only ever see my mother these days. My more distant relatives are people like great uncles and second cousins, and cousins once removed... I hardly ever see these people! It's like years between the times when we meet! The whole family only gets together for weddings and funerals. |
