Deepsky FREE Astronomy Software
----------------------------------------------

Steven S. Tuma, the author of Deepsky Astronomy Software is releasing a free
version of his popular observation planning software called Deepsky FREE
http://www.deepskysoftware.net/DeepskyFree.html (86 MB download). This
software is a fully functional version of Deepsky Astronomy Software, except
it has the following limitations:

- Deepsky FREE contains only 109 images of the Messier Objects (CD has
11,000 and DVD has 410,000 images)
- The Deepsky database contains 11,000 deepsky objects instead of 708,000
objects
- Star charts go to magnitude 11 instead of magnitude 15.5
- There are nag messages asking you to purchase the full version

Deepsky Astronomy Software is really a suite of astronomy programs all
rolled up into one easy to use package. Here is a list of some of the
features:

- DVD version has 410,000+ Images of Deepsky Objects
- CD has 11,000 Images of Deepsky Objects
- Searchable and Filterable Spreadsheet Database of 708,000 Deepsky Objects

Deepsky Astronomy Software includes support for Many GOTO telescopes
including Nexstar 5/8, GPS, 114 GT,Ultima 2000, LX200, LX200GPS, Autostar
based scopes, Astro-Physics 1200 GTO,ACP2,ACL-based telescopes (Comsoft
PC-TCS, OGS, DFM, many research grade instruments),Vixen et cetera...

I don't have a problem, exactly, but the ads do seem a few times more
frequent than necessary. Plus they seem to shout.

They do come in bunches. Nothing for a year or so, and then (it seems)
five or so within a month.
