Default The Apollo 1 Merry-Go-Round (June 2004)

June 8 - "Charleston"

"He did not fire any RCS thrusters LaDonna. The Service Module RCS wasn't
even wired to the CM MDC. Neither was the Command Module RCS. Instead NASA
wired the Command Module MDC electronics that command the RCS to "load
boxes" and "A14-275 quad simulators" right? Or is this inconvenient part of
the report just part of the big coverup too? Oh and it's pages 1139-1140
and 1237 if you don't believe me."

June 14 - "JimO"

"We would still like any documentation that can be checked, that
shows that any Apollo RCS actually ignited that day."

June 14 - LaDonna Wyss

"As Scott said, it is documented by IDR that a + roll thruster fired
without being commanded by the crew, and in fact that thruster fired
three times without being commanded by the crew."

June 23 - Scott Grissom

"JimO, produce any documents that you have that shows the RCS
didn't ignite. that's such a silly request......."

June 23 - "Herbs"

"Daniel has already done so. Please do try to keep up."

Like I said, get your facts straight. They DID conduct Static Fire;
otherwise, what was the point of the test????

Testing crew procedures? Testing the portion of the control path that is
upstream of the SM (i.e., contained in the CM). I don't know off hand where
the control was split from that actually leading to the RCS, but you can
test the upstream portion. Did you know that before each launch KSC launch
control practiced multiple launches including activation of all circuits
including the ignitors (actual ignitors were disconnected) without actually
conducting a "Static Fire". This was a test of the space ship electronics,
and there was no need to actually fire the thrusters.

uh, yes. that's why they knew they had an un-commanded roll
thruster firing. when did you come into this????? it's on the same
idr as the rcs safe lights. IYRC.

(JTM, July 16: I take it this IDR confirms a RCS circuit simulator.)
